Decorative Fair 23rd April 2011

A day at the Fair!

The day of the fair finally arrived last weekend and what a great day it was...

We arrived early at the Town Hall to set up and prepare for a busy day ahead. The Town Hall is beautifully decorated inside and really set of all of the lovely stands on the day.

All of the stands looked really fantastic, the shoppers on the day were lucky to have such a lovely mixture of things to buy on the day. The weather also held out for us and we had a fantastic day of sunshine.

Heather from Hellish Designs set up her stand beautifully with painted ladders showing off lovely handmade cushions, shades etc many of which were snapped up early in the day!

Belle and Thistle had a lovely stand with some beautiful items. As a massive dog lover I couldn't resist their small cushion with a dog print which is now on my bed.

Amy's stand from Blightly Boutique looked great and was beautifully set out with all sorts of vintage items.

Catherine Shinn had some real treasures on her stand as did Dot Barton selling beautiful vintage jewellery including some really cute old dog brooches (I told you I was dog mad!).

Stephen and Judy from All Things Vintage and Beautiful were selling lots of unusual vintage pieces, perfect for something a bit different on the day.

Looking lovely amongst the stallholders was Isobel's stand from Squash Bespoke Cushions.

Hope from D'arcy Gallery had some really unusual Burmese and Thai lacquerware which was well worth a look.

Really standing out in the hall was Jan and Louise's stand from The Decorative Course Company. They set up a beautiful umbrella with all of their handmade items and had a busy day talking to everyone about the courses they offer.

Offering something a bit different was Nicki from DesRes Design. I would really recommend looking at her website for some really different items including some stunning lighting.

Kate from Blass Jewellery tempted lots of people with her lovely unusual jewellery.

Adding a great rustic touch to the room was Mandy from Decorative Antiques Country and Decorative Bygones including a much admired lovely old dovecote.

Of course Mum was there with her much admired painted furniture, decorative pieces and cushions.

Parcel and Tie also had a really lovely stand with some great gift ideas.

The Thomas Etty stand looked great amongst the furniture and giftware. There's lots of info on Ray's website for all of you garden lovers.

Chris from Phoenix Trading had some really great and unusual cards and had a steady stream of happy customers.

Chloe's stand from Chloe Antiques really did look stunning with handmade cushions, fabric files and other goodies.

A big thanks to Amy and team as well for serving tea, coffee and cakes on the day. They set out tables with lovely tablecloths and daffodils and made very yummy cakes, including the best carrot cake I think I've ever had!!

A massive thank you to all of the stallholders for setting up your stands so beautifully and all of our customer who came along on the day.

We're currently in the process of booking dates for the next fair so I'll keep you posted with more details : )
